This is a review for Penske truck rental which has moved to this location since I last rented a truck. The ladies in the office made it a smooth and fast experience. I was out of there in less than 10min. Will for sure use this location again.

Eileen is great! She was a huge help with paperwork and showing us the storage unit. She’s very personable and chatted with us making us feel welcome and not just a transaction. Great customer service and great facility.

What made the process superb was the lady who works there. Truck rental is truck rental. Paperwork is paperwork. But the customer service this woman provided was waaaaay beyond anything I had expected. She is what makes this place exceptional.

Staff are really nice. Chris is the best. Getting a storage was super easy. No long term commitment. I love the tech savvy security it definitely enhances the experience and makes it feel safe and secure and really easy to access all at the same time. I like the location. Central and close to everything yet tucked away. Prices are good. Facility is clean. I think this is one of the cleanest storage facilities I have ever seen. Most of the storage units are indoors but it's nice we know our stuff is protected from the rain. Thanks!

I had such a good experience and I was so grateful for Taquan’s help. He was so calm, patient and understanding when my family was running behind schedule. He was able to answer all my questions and assured me everything would be okay with my U-Haul rental. I appreciated his customer service so much.

There’s Public Storage, and then there’s personal storage—and that difference is exactly what sets modSTORAGE apart. I’ve rented at this particular location for several years and it was recently taken over by modSTORAGE. Since then, the improvements have been substantial: the facility is newly renovated with brand-new elevators, offers true 24/7 access, and the units themselves are now fully digital—no padlocks, no keys, no combinations to remember. One particularly thoughtful feature is the ability to open the main garage bay doors directly from your car so you can drive inside, making loading and unloading easy regardless of the weather. As strong as the upgrades and technology are, they’re not what ultimately set modSTORAGE apart. The real difference is the personal involvement of the new owner, Jared. You’ll often see him walking around the facility making various improvements, and always with a smile. He’s quick to say hello and chances are he’ll even remember your name.

He’ll also always tell you if there’s ever an issue, he wants to know about it. I experienced that help firsthand. I currently rent two large units (a 10×18 and a 10×15), which I’ve had for several years. As part of a promotion and loyalty incentive, I was given an excellent rate for a guaranteed term. When that term ended, my rate increased by nearly $160 per month—almost $2,000 per year. Needless to say I was not happy. Remembering what Jared said about reaching out, I decided to take him up on that and asked if anything could be done. He informed me while rates were set by corporate, give him time and he’d see what he could do.

Sure enough, less than 24 hours later, he called back and said “I was able to get them to reduce your rate by almost $100 a month and that should be good for the next four to six months.” That level of advocacy and follow-through is rare in any industry, let alone public storage. It demonstrated integrity and a genuine commitment to customers that makes me happy to remain a modSTORAGE customer to this day. Thanks, Jared!

I have been to three facilities that say they are “24-hour access” and it is just not true. But modstorage actually is, no gimmicks and no extra costs ! There price is also solid. I always see cool new features and tech being added. The touch locks also let me sleep stress free knowing nobody is going to break in :). They also have a lot of moving material and U-Haul trucks. It’s overall a great local self storage that aren’t a greedy corporate money pig unlike the other big guys ( who would rent wise me like crazy !).

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE HERE.. YOUR STUFF WILL GET DIRTY WHILE THERE, YOUR STUFF WILL GET STOLEN BY STAFF BECAUSE THEY CAN EASY OPEN YOUR UNIT.. DONT BELIEVE ME? GO TO THE LOCAL 108th PRECINCT AND SEE HOW MANY THEFT CLAIMS ARE THERE FOR THIS STORAGE FACILITY. PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ROBBED FOR THOUSANDS WORTH OF THEIR VALUABLES.. THE PERSON IN CHARGE (JERRY) IS A DIRTY BUSINESS MAN AND HAS NO SCRUPLES AND ITS THE HEAD OF ALL THE THEFTS THAT HAVE HAPPENED. I HAVE VIDEO FOOTAGE OF HIM ACTING OUTRAGEOUS WITH A CUSTOMER JUST BECAUSE THEY WANTED THEIR STOLEN STUFF BACK, CLAIMING ITS GONE BECAUSE OF 1 LATE PAYMENT. VERY VERY BAD STORAGE DO NOT STORE YOUR STUFF HERE..THEY ARE OUT TO GET PEOPLE FOR THEIR VALUABLES..BEFORE RENTING HERE GO TO THE 108th PRECINCT AND THEY WILL TELL YOU THE MOMENT YOU WALK IN THE DOOR.. MY STUDF WAS RAN THROUGH THOROUGHLY INTO ALL MY PRIVATE THINGS AND THEY DID NOTHING ABOUT IT.. CLAIMING AND ADMITTING THAT THERE WAS A THIEVE AMONG THE STAFF..MIND YOU THE LOCKS ARE ELECTRONIC SO ONLY YOUR PHONE AND THEIR SYSTEM CAN OPEN IT..

This is one of those companies with zero actual humans. No one answers the phone or monitors emails even when a customer of years alerts them about rats and construction that left poop and concrete dust all over my property. Someone needs to get back to me and this is the only option I have now.

Great storage facility, and Scott is the biggest pleasure to work with. He went above and beyond to help me get settled in, and out. He came in special on a Sunday to help me out. Unbelievable Custer service!!!

Ive been storing my camping gear at this facility, and its been a great experience. The place is always clean, and I feel my belongings are very secure. The staff is super friendly and helpful, making everything a breeze. One of the best features is the convenient drive-up parking, which makes accessing my unit so much easier-no long walks or heavy lifting! The prices are reasonable too. 100% recommend

I was looking for 24/7 self storage in Piscataway and then I came across modSTORAGE. Very solid modern self storage facility with super cheap prices. I am really satisfied with my experience with them and 100% recommend them ! Their website is also really modern and the checkout experience is super clean.

I wanted to share that I had a wonderful conversation with Mike this week about your facility! We’re thinking of moving back into the area from Florida, and after having a horrible experience using PODS a few years ago (most of our belongings got ruined with mold inside the pod and they refused to do anything about it), we’re obviously hesitant to store any of our belongings. Mike was able to put our minds at ease that our stuff would be safe! If we decide to make the move, modSTORAGE has our business!

As one of the first few customers of Mod Storage, I can confidently say that all of their customers are guaranteed an excellent customer service, along with all other aspects of a business that make you want to stay. You can tell that they truly know how to treat people well.

The place is clean, feels secure, and getting in and out is simple. The staff are friendly and actually helpful (which isn’t always the case with storage places). If you need extra space while moving, downsizing, or just clearing out the garage, this spot makes it painless. Would recommend 👍

Not only does that lack of weather stripping on the doors allow all the dirt INTO the unit, some of my property mysteriously disappeared! When the place was called Cottonwood Storage they quoted me a price however when Mod Storage took over they would not honor the price I was quoted and blamed the "new software" as the reason!! I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY!!

They only really have two big sizes, from what I’ve noticed.. but I had a lot of stuff, so it was perfect! They staff is amazing, they definitely do what they can to help you out. They’re so personable, I think it’s great! But, there were mice. And it seems like a lot of them because when I went back one day, the mice had chewed through a few of my storage tubs and bags and nested and pooped EVERYWHERE I got rid of so much stuff because there was mice feces almost smothered into my stuff, granted I could have just washed it really well but it was honestly really enraging and sad seeing my things like that and I felt no matter how many times I washed it it wouldn’t be clean.. I’ve never had to deal with mice with any other storage unit I’ve used, so it was very disappointing.. if you decide to store your things here, I just recommend setting up mouse traps so this doesn’t happen to you.

PROPERTY DAMAGE & DISGUSTING LIQUID ALL OVER MY STUFF. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PICTURES OF DAMAGED BELONGINGS. DO NOT USE MODSTORAGE. ALSO TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Within just 2 months of storing my belongings here, my mattress and clothing were soaked in a FOUL SMELLING LIQUID. It has been 30 DAYS since requesting reimbursement for the damaged items, and every email and follow-up has been completely ignored. This has caused hardship and inconvenience as the entire reason I rented a storage unit was because I would not be in the area. Now I have to go through extreme inconvenience to get there again just because of this this damage. The employee that was on-site the day I discovered the the damage would not commit to any solution or take responsibility and and only told me to send an email, which the email has led nowhere. SEE ATTACHED PICTURES OF DAMAGED BELONGINGS

Jim and Fern at MyStorage provided excellent customer service during my U-Haul truck rental on January 14th. They were professional, friendly, and made the process smooth and stress-free. I truly appreciated their help and would highly recommend this location because of them.

The first day going the guy was very nice but now that I’ve been there for only four months, they raised my payment and when I asked him why he was very rude and said “because we can do that”. He has no customer service skills what so ever. I did go a couple of time to pay my unit and saw how he treated other customers. This business will not last long with him being there. I do not suggest anyone coming as long as he is there.

I came in with some apprehension and Fernando was very attentive even between handling back to back phone calls. Had prompt, clear answers for my questions and was thorough with the initial walk through. I didn’t feel pressured into an upsale, he seemed genuinely interested in ensuring they accommodated my specific needs. Hoping the facility service holds up to the customer service standard set.

ModStorage has been awesome to store out things there. So friendly and going through the process of checking and getting setup to rent our storage unit was smooth. Linda helped us and was so sweet. Thank y’all again.

I have been very satisfied with my experience at this facility, as storing my items has been seamless with no issues. However, I recently received a notice that the rental rate for my small storage unit will increase by $20. While I understand periodic adjustments may be necessary, I find this increase substantial for the size of my unit. As a result, I am exploring alternative storage options to better suit my budget. 70.99 to 90.99

We rented from them for about 5 years. From day one, we were always greeted with a smile and a wave. All the staff have always been so kind and helpful. They also have lots of items in the office to help with your moving needs. Thanks for taking good care of us and our belongings!
