Matching box sizes stack cleanly and use vertical space efficiently. Mismatched boxes create wasted gaps and unstable towers. Invest in a few sizes of sturdy, uniform boxes rather than reusing random ones.
Disassemble Large Furniture
Bed frames, tables, and shelving units take up dramatically less space when broken down. Bag and label all hardware, and tape it to the corresponding piece so reassembly is painless.
Fill Every Void

Leave a Center Aisle
The most common regret we hear from customers is packing wall-to-wall. Always leave a narrow walkway down the center so you can access items in the back without unloading the entire unit.
Protect Against Moisture
Even in a climate-controlled unit, place pallets or a tarp under your items. Cover upholstered furniture with breathable cloth — never plastic, which traps humidity and encourages mildew.
Label Everything — Twice
Label boxes on two adjacent sides so contents are readable no matter how they're stacked. A simple inventory list taped inside the door will save you hours later.
