Building software that storage operators can trust

Ismaeel is a software engineer and Computer Engineering student at New York University. At modSTORAGE, his work spans multi-tenant platform architecture, billing and ledger systems, data migration, cloud infrastructure, partner integrations, and operator-facing software.

He approaches engineering through correctness and ownership. Financial records should reconcile, migrations should make discrepancies visible, integrations should recover cleanly, and operators should be able to understand what the system did. His work has also focused on performance, from restructuring data and reporting paths to building lower-level Linux, C, and C++ projects outside work.

Ismaeel is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering with a minor in Mathematics at NYU, expected May 2028. His academic and personal work centers on the hardware/software boundary, computer architecture, algorithms, probability, and performance-sensitive systems.

    What he works on

    Financial and operational systems

Building billing, ledger, payment, reporting, and reconciliation systems where correctness has a direct operational and financial consequence.

    Platform and cloud infrastructure

Designing multi-tenant APIs, authentication and permission boundaries, AWS infrastructure, deployment workflows, and internal tools that make the platform easier to operate and recover.

    Data migration and partner integrations

Moving legacy facility data into modern systems with validation and reconciliation, while connecting insurance, auction, access-control, security, and other industry partners.

    Performance and systems engineering

Profiling slow paths, improving data models and data movement, and building lower-level Linux, C, and C++ projects where behavior is measured rather than assumed.
